i love the grace

my buddy called me the other night to say she couldn't come visit in october because she's swamped. we chatted about the weekend. i saw an ex (from several years ago) this past weekend. i told her i wish i was a bigger person and that i wish i acted like i was over him, but i see him and i have no desire to speak with him and i can't bring myself to go start a conversation. she said all that is required of me is to not be rude if he comes to talk to me. that is all that's necessary to be the bigger person. sometimes you jsut need someone to say something that simple to make things ok. i'm glad she called!

i forgot about the protests when i was travelling back to dc this weekend. i don't know if it's that i'm so disconnected that i didn't know or i'm so desensitized that i didn't know. either way, the protesting is well documented.

convention

this past weekend was convention for usana. it was pretty cool. although, my body doesn't like flying and i was nauseous when i landed; and the air is too dry for me out there, so i was feeling crappy most of the time. but, i learned some cool things and met some amazing people. i also made some decisions. 1-i will start eating better and i will do it now. 2-i will try to figure out if i have an allergy that's causing my sinus issues. 3-i will share more and share more often. ok, so not quite the best order in priority, but if i'm not taking care of myself, how can i help others take care of themselves?
my friends, i love you all. don't forget that. you'll need to remember it when i'm being a crap-head and you want to kick me...

i've always had a really easy time on standardized tests and really anything multiple choice. what happened? is it just age? i totally suck. and all our tests are multiple choice. and we have like 2 every week. and homeworks on top of it...grr...

and then on tuesday...

so, we joined the "private practice club". the first meeting was with a speaker, dr tracy williams from the white sox. he's the O.D. for both the sox and the bulls. he had lots of stories to tell about how he got from being an ico student to where he is now. after the talk, we all scooted over to the game. the white sox were playing the k.c. royals. it was a fun game. we sat sooooooo close...check the picks. we were ~5 rows back and directly in line with 1st & 2nd base. and beside us was the bullpen. being a student is fun!!

jazz fest

labor day weekend in chicago = jazz fest. since we're new and still trying to check out every little thing that happens, me and some friends decided to head down there. check out how cute we are! that's stacy, anne, and me. we had fun at the festival part of jazz fest. we didn't get to catch much music, but we enjoyed our own company. and really, what more could you ask for?
